Summer Camp 2025 at the Wichita Theatre is entitled “All the World’s A Stage”, which is the first part of a William Shakespeare’s monologue which says,
“All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely Players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His Acts being seven ages…
Summer Camp ‘25 is NOT about William Shakespeare but titled as such to remind us that every part of our life has an element of acting in it. Whether it’s a job interview, being a friend even when you don’t feel good, or just smiling at mom and dad and doing what they ask EVEN when you don’t want to.
This year’s camp, besides teaching basic stage skills will include, as described by camp director, Carl Alfert:
Improv Olympics: Unleash Your Inner Comedian
Get ready for a week of fast-paced, laugh-out-loud fun in Improv Olympics! This high-energy camp is all about thinking on your feet, embracing creativity, and working as a team to create unforgettable, unscripted performances. Campers will compete in exciting improv challenges, including:
Quick-Think Relay – Speed through hilarious storytelling games!
Scene Freeze Showdowns – Jump in and change the scene on the fly!
Whose Line Is It Anyway? – Take on classic improv games with a twist!
Character Switch-Ups – Transform into wild and wacky new personalities!
Yes, And… Tournament – Master the golden rule of improv and build amazing scenes!
No scripts, no pressure, just pure imagination and fun! Whether you’re a first-time performer or a seasoned class clown, Improv Olympics will help you build confidence, improve teamwork, and sharpen your quick-thinking skills. The week wraps up with an epic improv showcase where campers will put their new skills to the test in front of an audience!

Camp Dates: July 15-25
Ages: 8-12
Time: 9AM to Noon Tuesday thru Friday (no Mondays)
Cost: $275 (each additional child in the same household receives a $30.00 discount)
Early Bird Special: $250.00 if space is reserved and paid in full by May 9th
Ltd. to 25 students
*All campers will receive a camp T SHIRT.
Ages: 13-18
Time: 1PM to 4PM Tuesday thru Friday (no Mondays)
Cost: $300 (each additional child in same household receives a $30.00 discount)
Early Bird Special: $275.00 if space is reserved and paid in full by May 9th.
Ltd to 15 students
**If you wish to just make a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your child’s slot you may do so with a balance due by June 13
*All campers will receive a camp T SHIRT.

Carl J. Alfert is a passionate theatre educator and director with a lifelong love for the performing arts. With experience spanning over 200 productions, Carl has worked as an actor, director, and producer, bringing countless stories to life on stage. His dedication to theatre extends beyond traditional productions—he has founded multiple improv troupes, fostering creativity, quick thinking, and teamwork among young performers.
As an experienced theatre teacher at both middle and high school levels, Carl has helped countless students build confidence, develop their acting skills, and discover the magic of storytelling. Whether coaching students through their first monologue or directing large-scale ensemble performances, he believes in creating a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment where every performer can shine.
At summer camp, Carl brings his expertise, energy, and enthusiasm to inspire the next generation of performers. His approach combines professional-level training with a strong emphasis on creativity, collaboration, and FUN—ensuring every camper leaves with new skills, new friends, and unforgettable memories.
